How We Work
Site Assessment
We assess the tank, access and proposed scope for a no-obligation quotation. This does not confirm asbestos by sight; sampling or a formal survey is arranged separately where required. Timing is confirmed per enquiry.
Water Disconnection
Where water-system isolation or plumbing disconnection is required, it is coordinated with an appropriately competent plumbing professional before asbestos work proceeds.
Controlled Removal
Where the confirmed tank material and assessed task fall within our direct scope, removal follows the job-specific risk assessment, plan of work and HSE task guidance. This page does not provide a dismantling method; clean-up and handover requirements are confirmed for the individual job.
Waste Packaging & Disposal
Tank waste follows the applicable hazardous-waste route. Carrier/disposal arrangements and the legally required paperwork are confirmed for the individual job.
Sign-Off & Paperwork
Job-appropriate paperwork is handed over on completion. Replacement-tank and plumbing work are separate from the asbestos-removal scope and should be arranged with the appropriate plumbing professional.
Common Questions
How do I know if my water tank contains asbestos?
Colour, texture and age cannot confirm that a water tank is asbestos cement. Where material confirmation is needed, use the appropriate sampling or survey route and laboratory analysis for the tank in scope.
Is an asbestos water tank dangerous?
If a suspect tank is cracked, damaged or leaking, avoid further disturbance and arrange assessment of the material, condition and next work route. Visible deterioration alone does not establish whether the water contains asbestos fibres.
Can I remove an asbestos water tank myself?
Do not use this page as a DIY asbestos-removal method. Suitable asbestos-cement work can be non-licensed or NNLW depending on condition and task, but training, risk assessment, access controls and hazardous-waste requirements still apply. If the work is licensable, an HSE-licensed contractor is required.
How much does asbestos water tank removal cost?
The indicative domestic water-tank removal range is £300–£600. The written quotation depends on the confirmed material, tank size, access, plumbing dependencies, work category and waste route.
