How We Work
Demolition Survey
Where existing information is insufficient, a demolition survey is scoped to the structure and areas the demolition will disturb. The survey provider, access limitations and report scope are confirmed for the individual project.
Soft Strip
The soft-strip scope is defined from the asbestos information and demolition programme. Pro Asbestos Removal directly undertakes only suitable non-licensed and NNLW asbestos work; pipe lagging, sprayed coatings and other licensable tasks follow the HSE-licensed-contractor route.
Licensed Work Route
Work classed as licensable is outside our direct service and must be carried out by an HSE-licensed asbestos contractor. Any licensed-work notification, enclosure or specialist controls are the responsibility of that licensed contractor.
Testing & Handover Where Required
Independent air testing or four-stage clearance applies only where the project and work category require it. The analyst/provider and handover criteria are confirmed for the individual job rather than promised as a universal certificate.
Documentation Handover
Customers receive the legally required paperwork applicable to the work and waste movement we directly undertake. Survey, analyst and licensed-contractor records are separate documents issued by the relevant provider where those routes are used.
Common Questions
What is a soft strip in demolition?
A soft strip removes selected non-structural elements before demolition or major refurbishment. Where asbestos is present, the material, condition and task determine whether the work is non-licensed, NNLW or licensable; licensable work requires an HSE-licensed contractor.
Is a demolition survey legally required?
Before demolition starts, the asbestos information must be adequate for the structure and areas the work will disturb. Where reliable existing information is insufficient, a demolition survey is the normal route to obtain that intrusive information.
Can demolition proceed if asbestos is present?
The demolition plan must deal appropriately with asbestos that could be disturbed by the work. The sequence depends on the material, work category and demolition method; this page does not reduce that planning decision to a blanket claim that every ACM everywhere must be removed first.
Do you work alongside demolition contractors?
For work within our confirmed direct scope, sequencing and interfaces with the wider demolition programme can be agreed in the written project scope.
How much does demolition asbestos removal cost?
Costs depend on the size of the building, the number and type of ACMs present, and the programme requirements. Demolition projects are priced on application following a site survey. Contact us for a free assessment.
